BBall in Greenville, NC doesn't refer to march madness-its baseball andafter an awesome three game sweep against national powerhouse Cal-State Fullerton, ECU moved into the top 25. I was at the games on Saturday and Sunday-- Jimmy , my brother, got a standing ovation from us and about 20 other people when he removed second base and raked the dirt around it in the middle of the 5th inning. I was sitting with my dad about 3 rows up behind home plate and Senator Elizabeth Dole came and sat right in front of us! We said hello, took a picture with my camera phone, and then my dad talked to her about how he knew a guy who knew her husband Bob from the 20's or 30's or whatever...anyway, then I asked her to call my mom--who had just left that Saturday morning for a missions trip to Gulfport Mississippi. Libby said, "Sure I'll call Anne!" So she called my mom and left her a nice message about how she was at the ECU baseball game with her handsome son and how she was really proud that my mom is doing the Lord's work and she would love to talk to her about it some time...this wasn't her first phone call to a voter for sure.
ECU beat CSF Friday 6-1, Saturday 2-0, and Sunday 12-5!
